Our entertainment committee did a great job envisioning and presenting all the performances. They were well organized and run with efficiency. Many local artists were able to share the stage with the Professionals. The committee also coordinated and brought renowned artist like Sri Ganesh Desai, Srimathi Namita Desai, Prof. S Mallanna, Dr. Rajendra Kedlaya and Dr.Naveen Hegde of  Yakshagana Kala Vrunda of USA in our midst. Our thanks to the committee members headed by Vaishali Hegde.

Our Audio Visual crew headed by Sudhakara Rao waltzed in beautiful harmony with the performers on stage in addition to spending nearly the entire morning making sure our new equipment functioned properly. We are very grateful for their expertise and support.
And of course, what NEKK event is complete without a sumptuous meal? Thanks to out amazing food committee who scrambled in the last minute to set up a feast fit for kings! Our hearty congratulations to Ramgopal Deshpande and his committee for the delicious well organized dinner.

No sooner was the event done; our amazing Photography/Videography crew had all the pictures and clips ready for viewing. Thanks to Raju Alagawadi and his crew.
We thank all our sponsors; we also thank Shobha and Shankar Hegde who sponsored artists for Yakshagana.  Lastly, none of this would be possible if we did not have the affection and support of our fellow Kannadigas. The 2011-2013 committee thanks you all for your encouragement and hope for your continued patronage.

The Sri Purandara Dasa day celebration held at the New England Hindu Temple (NEHTI), Ashland, MA organized by Mandaara, New England Kannda Koota (NEKK) on Feb 13th 2011, was a musical treat for all those who attended.  The celebration of this great poet and carnatic music vidvaan was brought to life in the rendering of songs and playing of musical instruments by children ranging from 5-15 years of age and adults alike.  The day started off with the colorful confluence of women in brightly colored saris and men in their finest kurtas and children in traditional pavadais and lehengas.
